Happy Holidays!

Christmas Cooking Over the last two weeks of term, we really enjoyed baking our own cookies. We discussed what a recipe was, what ingredients we needed, and used a variety of tools to measure and combine the contents of our dough. This was a great chance to test our listening skills, turn-taking abilities and hand-eye coordination as we worked as a team to make our baked treats. Below is the recipe we used at school if you would like to recreate it over the holidays with your child. Christmas Tunes We've been getting our Xmas boogie on in the Dolphin classroom. We had a little dance to Jingle Bells and the Santa Freeze Dance (also known as the crazy Santa song) at the family beach day. I've also included a few other songs that got us into the Christmas/winter spirit at school.  Jingle Bells Santa Freeze Dance Gingerbread Cookie Dance SANTA Santa Shark Happy Holidays! Chinese--Exciting Christmas Activities in Class

Image
Dear parents and caregivers, As we approach Christmas, I want to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for your continued support. Over the past two weeks, the children have been enthusiastically discussing the festival, sharing key vocabulary such as Christmas tree, presents, and Santa. It has been delightful to see their excitement as they share their prior knowledge and experiences. Through the story, "我喜欢圣诞节" (I Love Christmas!), the children have further reinforced their understanding of these important terms. They have also enjoyed making Christmas trees with doilies, adding a festive touch to our classroom. Additionally, we have learned a simple version of “Jingle Bells,” which you can find on the K1 Chinese learning slide. The children have been joyfully dancing and singing along, making our sessions even more enjoyable.
